How to export ODB++ files from Altium Designer
Last Edit: Saturday, 26 March 2022
Logic Need recommend the "intelligent" file formats like ODB++ file format over the old formats (Gerber RS-274X artwork files / Excellon drilling files) to ensure superior manufacturability, quality, reliability and consistency.
To generate ODB++ files from Altium Designer please follow the following steps:
1- |
Open your PCB Design file on Altium Designer software, check integrity of the files. Here we used the file name "MyPCB.PcbDoc " as an example file.
Select the menu "File", then left-click "Fabrication Outputs", and select "ODB++ Files"
|
2- |
In the "ODB++ Configuration" dialog, follow and select the parameters as shown here:
(We use a light-green colored blocks for marking the required selections)
|
3- |
when the generation process is finished you will find "odb" folder, ZIP and TGZ archive files are exported to the location defined in the Output Path field, on the Options tab of the Project Options dialog.(by default the same location as your design files).
Locate the ZIP archive file to send it to Logic Need
Now, you are done.
(We recommend that you give the files a quick check using any ODB++ viewer software. To download ODB++ Free Viewers click here. You will need to "join" the alliance in order to download the free viewer). |
