How to export ODB++ files from Proteus
Last Edit: Saturday, 26 March 2022
Logic Need recommend the "intelligent" file formats like ODB++ file format over the old formats (Gerber RS-274X artwork files / Excellon drilling files) to ensure superior manufacturability, quality, reliability and consistency.
To generate ODB++ files from Proteus please follow the following steps:
1- |
Open your PCB Design file on Proteus software, check integrity of the files. Here we used the file name "MyPCB" as an example file.
Select the menu "Output", then left-click "Generate ODB++ Database".
|
2- |
In the "ODB++ Manufacturing Output" dialog, in the "ODB++ Output" tab follow and select the parameters as shown here:
(We use a light-green colored blocks for marking the required selections)
In the Folder field select the location where the output file will be created
|
3- |
After pressing "Generate" button the process of generating the output file will start, and the "Log" tab will display the generating progress as shown below.
|
4- |
when the generation process is finished you will find "odb++" ZIP archive file is exported to the location defined in the Folder Path field on the "ODB++ Output" tab of the dialog.
Locate the ZIP archive file to send it to Logic Need
Now, you are done.
(We recommend that you give the files a quick check using any ODB++ viewer software. To download ODB++ Free Viewers click here. You will need to "join" the alliance in order to download the free viewer). |
